fourteen months old

We started the month off in Kentucky and we're ending it in Tennessee! And we had a lot of fun in North Carolina in between!
- You stood up without pulling up or holding onto anything for the first time on Jan. 21
- While we were in KY, you took your first bath in a big tub, so you had your first bath in the big tub at home on Jan. 21
- You started walking the week of Jan. 26 (more than 3 steps)
-Once you started walking, you haven't slowed down!
- You had your first "sick" doctor's visit on Jan. 26. On Jan. 24 you were nearly inconsolable and actually slept while your Daddy and I held you (which hasn't happened in months), so we knew something was wrong, but you never had a fever. Your left ear seemed very sensitive the next day and Monday morning, I noticed some drainage coming from your ear, so I went ahead and took you in to see Dr. Cooley. You were acting fine by then, but she thought you had probably had an ear infection and your ear drum burst. So we used some ear drops for a few days and haven't had any problems since then! (also you weighed 19 lbs, 4 oz with your clothes on at the doctor's office)
- Even though it was so cold, we had a fun playdate at the park with friends from playgroup on Jan. 30
- Miss Allison and Carter came for a visit on Jan. 31, while Mr. Brad was in Raleigh for something
- You have been learning to follow commands (come over here, bring me a book, put your cup in the circle, etc) this month
- You got sick overnight on Feb. 13. I went into your room on the 14th to get you ready to travel to TN and you had thrown up all in your crib overnight and we didn't even hear you! Poor thing! We felt so bad that you had gotten sick and we didn't know it! And you threw up again tonight while we were at Nana's house. We were saying the blessing at dinner and you must have made a funny noise because I looked up and you threw up all over your Daddy's hand you were holding. I hope you feel better soon!
- You still LOVE to read and still love all books, but are starting to develop a few favorites (Polar Bear, Polar Bear, Baby Photo Bible, Good Night North Carolina, and all the little Chick-Fil-A and Dollar Store books)
- You're still wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 12 month clothes (a few 18 month hand-me-downs from Hayley Williams)
- You're still a great eater- I hope that continues!
- We've been taking advantage of the few nice days we've had by going for walks or going to the park
