Maine trip: last day

Today we left Maine :(
We had such a great trip with the Jacksons! Much more relaxing than any of us thought it would be and you and Clifton did great the whole trip!
That speck out in the bay is the cairn your Daddy built yesterday! That's all we could see when the tide was in!
After packing up the car, we stopped at a park before heading to Portland to catch our flight home.

Maine trip: day 6

This morning was the first morning all week where we had to be somewhere by a certain time!
That makes for a great vacation!
We went on a lighthouse and wildlife boat tour around Mt. Desert Island. It was almost 3 hours long and you kids did great!
The sights were beautiful
Lots of HUGE homes right on the coastline
a view of Sand Beach from the water
and Thunder Hole
Seal Harbor
The top house (only the roof is visible) is owned by Martha Stewart.
It is called Skylands and overlooks Seal Harbor.
Bear Island Lighthouse
Great Duck Island Lighthouse
Life saving station
This must be Baker Island Lighthouse, but I can't for sure remember!
Winter Harbor Lighthouse
Egg Rock Lighthouse
a bald eagle sitting on top of Egg Rock Lighthouse
and we finally saw some seals for Carolyn!
After the boat ride we ate the West Street Cafe.
You and Clifton were asleep pretty quickly after we got on the road to go back to the house!

This afternoon your Daddy built a cairn on the beach behind the house

Maine trip: day 5

This morning we headed up Cadillac Mountain- the highest point on the east coast. At certain times of the year, it is the first place the sun touches in America. You can access the top by driving and there are a few trails to walk around on top.

We had lunch at the house and this afternoon we went back to Jordan Pond House and walked on some of the carriage trails there.
Beautiful sunset at the house tonight again.
