9 month appointment

Today was your nine month pediatric appointment! You won't actually be nine months old until next week, but since we're going to Chattanooga on Sunday, I wanted to get it in before we go. Since we have moved since your 6 month appointment (we miss Dr. Brown!), we met a new pediatrician today. The practice is called Chapel Hill Pediatrics and you will be a patient at the Durham office. The office is really nice and is pretty close to our house.

I'm glad your Daddy was able to leave work early to go to your appointment and meet your new doctor.

Your new pediatrician is Dr. Mary Cooley. She was super nice and seemed very smart! She said you are looking great! You did drop in percentage in length, but she was not concerned and said that is probably due to a discrepancy in measuring technique that they used at Twin City Pediatrics (which always seemed very inaccurate) vs. how they measure at this office (which seems much more accurate- you just laid in a box and your Daddy held your head at one end and the nurse slid the end of the box up to the bottom of your foot).

The nine month visit isn't typically a "shot" visit, but it was time to get your first flu shot. You will get the second one in a month. Your Daddy held you while the nurse gave you the shot and you didn't make a whimper.
Today was the first day we had a concern while we were at the doctor's office. Yesterday you developed a diaper rash that would not go away with the use of Boudreax's Butt Paste (which has always worked for us in the past). Your Daddy thought it looked like some yeast was developing, but since you were going to see your doctor today, we waited it out. It doesn't look bad at all, but we bought some Lotromin creme (as recommended by your doctor since it wasn't a bad case) at the store today to heal it.
